E-Learning Professional Development

The Graduate Certificate in e-Learning Professional Development is designed for educators in K-12 and higher education, trainers, and instructional designers.  The program prepares candidates to facilitate e-learning and generate high quality e-learning materials for totally online and hybrid (aka blended) learning environments in business and industry, higher education and K-12 schools.

Instructional Design

The Graduate Certificate in Instructional Design prepares educators, instructional designers, and human resource and training specialists in corporate, industry, and educational settings to design training, professional development, or other instructional materials.

Instructional Design for Simulations

The Graduate Certificate in Instructional Design for Simulations prepares educators, instructional designers, and human resource and training specialists in corporate, industry, and educational settings to work with engineers, graphic artists, computer programmers, and game developers to design training and instructional systems, addressing both the technical and the instructional aspects of stand alone and PC-based desktop training simulations.

Instructional/Educational Technology

The Graduate Certificate in Instructional/Educational Technology provides teachers with the knowledge and training to apply technological tools to the learning process and to develop the leadership skills necessary to become educational technology specialists in K-12 schools.  The certificate program assists students in meeting requirements for State of Florida Teacher Certification. In addition, students learn the subject matter needed to meet the National Educational Technology Standards for Teachers, developed by the International Society for Technology (ISTE) in Education, which is being adopted by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).

Master’s Degree Programs

Educational Technology (M.A.)

The Master of Arts in Instructional Design and Technology program is designed to meet the needs of working professionals in various settings. It enables candidates to complete courses in traditional, web, and mixed mode (with one face-to-face meeting every other week). Educational Technology is a program for classroom teachers looking for ways to increase their satisfaction and become highly skilled at successfully integrating technology into the curriculum. The skills and knowledge gained through this program allow teachers to seek new career paths in the field of education. Teachers who graduate from this program have the skills to become, technology coordinators, instructors at the community college and university level, online instructors, computer teachers, instructional designers, and more. The Educational Technology program is exciting and applicable to your current K-12 situation. The program provides an opportunity for study, research and professional training. It requires a great deal of independent thinking, and emphasis placed on the cultivation of scholarly attitudes and methods.

Educational Technology (M.Ed.)

The Educational Technology track in the Curriculum and Instruction M.Ed. program is designed for certified and experienced educators who want to increase their technological skills and become highly skilled at successfully integrating technology into the curriculum as well as develop leadership skills necessary to become site-based technology coordinators in K-12 schools, colleges, and universities.

E-Learning (M.A.)

The e-learning track in the Instructional Design and Technology M.A. program is designed for educators in K-12 and higher education, training specialists, and instructional designers who wish to facilitate e-learning and design high quality e-learning materials for either totally online or blended learning environments.

Instructional Systems (M.A.)

The Instructional Systems track in the Instructional Design and Technology M.A. program is designed for prospective and practicing instructional designers, training specialists, and training directors/managers in business, industry, government, or other settings where training, professional development, and lifelong learning takes place. The program is designed to meet the needs of working professionals in various settings.  It enables candidates to complete courses in traditional, Web, and mixed modes.

Doctor of Philosophy

Instructional Design & Technology (Ph.D.)

The Instructional Design and Technology track in the Education Ph.D. program prepares students for teaching and research in the field of instructional design and technology, instructional systems, educational technology, and e-learning professions, such as, university professor, corporate directors of training and human resources, and corporate researchers. The focus is upon the application of appropriate instructional technologies to the adult learner.
