Fit exercise into your busy schedule by joining the UCF Walking Club during the Fall and Spring semesters, beginning on Tuesday, September 26 at 5:30 p.m. at the Reflecting Pond, located on UCF’s main campus.
Additional walks will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 27, Tuesday, Oct. 3, and Thursday, Oct. 5 at 5:30 p.m. The dates for future walks will be released in October. All walks will start at the UCF Reflecting Pond.
Professor Emeritus and UCF’s first Athletic Director Frank Rohter, who was inducted into the UCF Athletics Hall of Fame, proposed the campus-wide walking group idea to our college for supporting healthy living in the community.
The walking club is free and welcomes UCF faculty, staff, students, alumni, organizations, and the community to participate in this twice-a-week walk around the campus. The 5:30 p.m. start time was chosen, so faculty and staff could participate after work and students and others could make the walking club part of their weekly routine.
The first walk is about one mile around campus and will start and end at the Reflecting Pond. Walks may increase in length to meet participants’ expectations and will begin at the Reflecting Pond every week. Walkers may shorten the length of their walk to any distance during the fitness program.
