Big, puffy clouds, scenic murals, and children’s playhouses welcomed Community Engagement Coordinator Dr. Brenda Thompson, Counselor Education Associate Professor Dr. S. Kent Butler, Orlando hotelier Harris Rosen, and other attendees during the Orange County Public Schools Academic Center for Excellence open house last Wednesday.

Our college, one of the PK-8 school’s community partners, will be providing the new school in the Parramore Heritage neighborhood with teacher interns and student mentors along with professional development opportunities for educators.

Additional offerings include a preschool program for two- to three-year-old children funded by the Rosen Foundation, art, computer, and music labs, and medical and dental services.
